Why the usual options fall short
A spreadsheet trusts your syncing. An app trusts its own servers. Neither has to be true here.
Your serials and safe combinations sit in plain text wherever that file syncs — a laptop, a cloud drive, an email attachment.
Usually encrypted, but the provider keeps the key — so a database breach, a subpoena, or one support ticket can all end the same way.
Your key is derived from your password, on your device. There's no version of a breach or a request that exposes your collection — including from us.
That's zero-knowledge encryption: AES-256, generated and held on your device, never on ours — the same cipher the U.S. government specifies for its own most sensitive data.

The reciprocity map is free for every visitor — checked against each state's own official source, not crowdsourced data, no account required. Saving your own permits to track, with renewal reminders, is a Collector-and-up feature: one permit on Collector, unlimited from Vault up.
Every state shows exactly where its answer came from and when it was last checked, because carry law changes state by state, sometimes mid-year. The information you need is in your hand, not buried in a forum thread.
It runs entirely on your device — the permits you hold are never sent anywhere to get an answer. And it says plainly what it is: a reading of official sources, not legal advice. Verify before you travel.

Switching from a spreadsheet or another app
Import from a CSV — your own spreadsheet, or an export from another tracking app — and columns get matched automatically. No re-typing every serial number by hand.
Point it at a folder of photos and each one links to the right firearm automatically, matched by filename — nothing to re-upload one at a time.
The file is read and matched entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to make the match — only the encrypted result is ever stored.
